Robotic Surgery

More Precise Surgery, Less Scarring, Quicker Recovery
That’s why we’re here.

Robotic Surgery is designed to provide surgeons with enhanced capabilities, including high-definition 3D vision and a magnified view. Your doctor controls the system, which translates his or her hand movements into smaller, more precise movements of tiny instruments inside your body. Though it is called robotic surgery, the machine cannot act on its own – the surgery is performed entirely by your doctor.

Robotic technology allows your doctor to perform complex procedures through just a few tiny openings. As a result, you may be able to get back to your daily routine faster, without the usual recovery following major surgery.

Robotic Surgery has been used successfully worldwide in hundreds of thousands of procedures to date and is now available right here in Watertown.

Is robotic surgery right for you?

The decision of whether or not a surgery is performed with robotic assistance is made by you, the patient, along with input from the surgeon. The surgeon walks each patient through all of the surgical options for their condition, including open surgery, traditional laparoscopic surgery, and robotic-assisted surgery. Once the patient has information on each of these options, he or she can make an informed decision that best suits their unique situation.

Benefits of choosing robotic surgery include: less post-operative pain, shorter hospital stays, faster recoveries, quicker return to normal activities, less risk of infection, less blood loss and fewer blood transfusions, less scarring, and fewer wound complications.

Talk to your provider about whether or not robotic surgery is right for you.
