Workplace Injury

Workplace injuries most commonly result from falls, repetitive motions, materials handling, slips and falls, and motor vehicle accidents. The Occupational Health experts at Watertown Regional Medical Center are trained to help in the prevention, management, and treatment of workplace injuries.

Preventing Workplace Injuries

While accidents can happen at any time, the right precautions can help prevent mishaps in the first place. Our Wellness Works experts can examine your workplace and your procedures and provide employee screenings to help you significantly reduce your risk of workplace injuries and illness.

Prevention services include:

  • Pre-employment screenings
  • DOT and non-DOT examinations
  • Drug and alcohol testing

Managing Workplace Injuries

Even with the best precautions in place, accidents can happen. And if they do, your response is critical. Be sure to take the proper steps to help your injured employee heal, while keeping your workers' compensation and healthcare costs to a minimum.

Injury case management services include:

  • Liaison services to coordinate your injured worker's return to work
  • Oversight of your employee's medical care and progress
  • Physician medical directorship
  • Rehabilitation services
  • Access to organizational services

Treating Workplace Injuries

When an on-the-job injury occurs, we offer exceptional medical care at our clinic for the initial diagnosis and treatment, and all follow-up injury care. When needed, visits are triaged to the Emergency Department, and we provide follow-up and case management until your employee is released.

Post-accident drug and alcohol testing can also be provided upon your request. Authorization forms, along with desired testing and proper custody and control forms, will need to be sent to the Occupational Health Services Department with the employee.
